Haitians Resort to Mud Cookies

Category: Whatevah, Uncategorized

No human should ever have to eat dirt in order to survive..

But tragically, in a world of so much overflowing wealth, and food that is wasted, it’s a human shame that we have people living in such dire conditions. And it seems to always be the brown and the black that are the most oppressed, repressed and depriced. As a black man, I find the silence of our black leaders shameful over anyone. Yes, Oprah, and many of our black celebs and haves have given much in the seemingly dire and futile bucket of need for the utterly impoverished abroad. But until the American government decides to actually rise up and be the nation is often falsely and undeservedly proclaims itself to be, people oppressed and deniced abroad will continue to have to live dreadful lives voide of decency and hope.

Obama and Clinton as the Democrat Dream Team

Category: Politics

Hmmm, and interesting and albeit power idea. Is this not the political equivalent of Jungle Feaver?! OK, that was a little rought, but you can’t say it doesn’t fit at least a bit! Assming that the both of them cant get their supporting casts and media pundits under control, they would have a profound opportunity to from a virtually inpenetrable team.

Especially considering the weaknesses of both candidate. Hillary, viewed as an experienced, but toxic traditional insider of old estabilishement, has been cannon fodder to the ultra cool neo flavor that is Obama. When we see Hillary, we don’t see change, although we hope that democratic ideals will beging to work thier way back into the off-azmuth path of the country. Obama’s utter lack of any significant experience as a leader, business operative or civil rights attorney, exposes him as simply a black man with charisma, amazing potential and nothing more. Oh, I forgot to mention novelty and youth. It’s his lack of experience that, for now, is proof that is is virgin in politics; yet to be corrupted by the toxic and corrupting forces such as K-Street.

What each lack the other seems to have, and quite possibly could truly take this country in a new direction. ABC has an interesting mention of this and it’s not a bad read. But I strongly earch all of you to research both candidates, because it will be a hard battle for each of them to win by themselves.

XP Service Pack 3 Almost Ready…

Category: Whatevah

I’m a little late on this, but finally Microsoft is almost ready to release the final build of Windows XP Service Pack 3. For me, the biggest benefit is improved gaming performance, although there is a slew of promised improvements. As always, you can expect all previous patches to be rolled up into this all in one bundle. You can grab Release Client 1 here.

Obama Promise Substantial Help for the Middle Class

Category: Politics

Well, It certainly looks and sounds good. If he can actually deliver on these promises, we are talking about sizable help to much of the black collective, significant drivers of this economy. Obama has a very weak history of political acheivement. Yes, the brotha is a statesman, articulate, intelligent, visionary, inspriational, morally sound, etc…

But his history doesn’t show real political acheivement on a state or national level.  But hey, anything’s possible, right?  He may actually be the first president (if he wins of course) to actually deliver on campaign promises.  Obama, your ideas sound great, let’s keep em comin…

TheHill.com - Obama unveils sweeping middle-class relief plan

As part of the initiatives, the senator proposed a $1,000 cut on payroll taxes for working families, the elimination of income taxes on retirees making less than $50,000 a year, a 10 percent tax credit on mortgage interest payments and a $4,000 tax credit for college tuition.

“We’re tired of tax cuts for the wealthy that shift the burden onto the backs of working people,” said Obama, who is trailing only Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) in the race for the Democratic nomination. “We need to give working families a break.”

The Illinois Democrat also promised to pass a universal healthcare bill that would cut family premiums up to $2,500 by 2012.

“Mark my words,” the senator said, “I will sign this bill by the end of my first term as president.”

House Endorses Homosexual Behavior

Category: Politics

The House approved a bill extending wide protections against any firm or entity that discriminates against Gays, Lesbians, Homos, faggots, whatever you wish to call them. I know, I know, some of you may fine my choice of words offensive. Well, you should. Homosexuality is a behavior, one that is disgraceful and destructive to any society as a whole.

It’s not only horrible that our government once again proves how morally defunct and retard it is, but it’s even worse in the fact that this is the first legislation that I can remember in the history of our country that legalizes a form of deviant social behavior. So much that it protects such immoral conduct from persecution or moral discrimination by employers, companies and other organizations in this company. I can’t wait to see the sheer number of lawsuits that will be erected in the next year and well beyond.

Here’s a blurb from the Washington post:

WASHINGTON, Nov. 7 — The House approved a bill this evening granting broad protections against discrimination in the workplace for gay men, lesbians and bisexuals, a measure that supporters praised as the most important civil rights legislation since the adoption of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990 but that opponents said would result in unnecessary lawsuits.

The bill, the Employment Nondiscrimination Act, is the latest version of legislation that Democrats have pursued since 1974 when Representatives Edward I. Koch and Bella Abzug of New York first sought to protect gay men and lesbians with a measure that they introduced on the fifth anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion, the confrontation between gay men and police officers at a bar in Greenwich Village that is widely viewed as the start of the American gay rights movement.

This is yet another major back step in our country’s moral standing. And people wonder why America is having so many problems.

Western Digital’s RE2 750 SATA Hard Drive

Category: TechnoStuff

….Because you can never have too much space!

At least that’s one of the geek mottos I live by. For around 250.00 on the net, you can have one of these enterprise class SATA hard drives by Western Digital. Myself, I’m a Seagate man, but this drive has caught my eye because of some, excellent performance, firmware improvements resulting in RAID optimizations, reliability improvements and the coveted extended warranty coverage.

“Lately, enterprise-class hard drives have become increasingly popular in enthusiast systems. The 10K-RPM Raptor is perhaps the best example of this trend, but not the only one. Western Digital’s RE2 line of 7,200-RPM drives has also become favored among enthusiasts for its delicate balance of performance, capacity, and a five-year warranty. And now there’s a new one.”

TechReport does a nice review on it.
